President Ken Staten called the meeting to order at 1919 hrs by first declaring the colors to be in place. He next called for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. The Bible was attended and the opening prayer was given by Bob Simmons. Bill Stone made the Pronouncement. Hank Riebel recited the Purposes of National sojourner, Inc.

Minutes of the 22 June 2011 meeting were approved, as amended, as was the Treasurers’ Report. The Audit Committee Chairman Larry Streitmatter read the audit report. A motion was made and seconded to accept the report as read.

The President called for reports from the Vice Presidents. 1st VP B. Frank Clark, Jr. reports the October program will have the Canadian AF Liaison speaking; November will be Toys for Tots; and December will be a speaker from Tinker Family Support. 2nd VP James Selders is planning Bridge of Light and inviting the Grand Master, we may have the Building of the Flag program. 3rd VP A.C. Henegar will begin ROTC planning soon.
An announcement was made by acting Secretary David Laukat that Bro. Oren Lee Peters and eight others will be induced into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame November 11th at 1830 hrs. The event will take place at the Gaylord Center at Oklahoma Christian university, 2501 East Memorial Road, Edmond.
Bro. Robert Carr announced that Britton Lodge was celebrating its 100th year and is having a fundraising pancake breakfast 8 October from 0800-1100 hrs. The Lodge of Research will be meeting there after the breakfast.
Bro. Bob Shipe made a motion to reduce our meal costs to $13.00 for singles and $25.00 for couples at each meeting. The motion was seconded and passed.
Ken Staten introduced Bro. Bob Shipe as the program speaker. Bro. Bob Shipe presented many details of the beginning of masonry in both the Indian and Oklahoma Territories. He spoke of the formation of Lodges, laying of cornerstones, and the growth of the Eastern Star.
Bro. Dan Burchett announced that members are needed to assist the Flag Team. Building will be at the Edmond Senior Center 10 November and the Blanchard parade will be 12 November. The parade will require 5 persons.
New Hero’s of ’76 Commander Bill Bradley stated the next Hero’s meeting will be announced at a later date, possibly 14 October.
There being no further business, Bob Simmons attended the Bible and the meeting was closed with prayer at 2025 hrs.
