Minutes 22 September 2010

Please Bill Bradley called the meeting to order at 1943 hrs by first declaring the colors to be in place.  He next called for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.  The Bible was attended and the opening prayer was given by Bob Simmons.  Bill Stone made the Pronouncement.  Stan Jones recited the Purposes of National  Sojourners, Inc.

Introductions:  MW PGM Bob Shipe, GM 2001 and his Lady Betty;  Stan Jones, LOH, Masonic 2000,  PCP & PCC, Regional Representative;  Bill Stone, PCP, Masonic MOH 2009.  

Minutes of the 23 June 2010 meeting were approved, as was the Treasurers’ Report.  The President called for reports from the Vice Presidents.  Next month’s program will be about the Civil War by Mr. Jerry Hanson.  November’s program will be about WWII & Korea by Mr. Pendleton Woods.  Hero’s of ’76 Commander Bob Hanna announced the next bivouac will be 5 November at the Del City Lodge.

The annual Candlelight Ceremony for our passing brothers was led by Chaplain Robert Simmons.  Ceremony members were Bob Shipe, Charles Coker,  Bill Stone and Dan Burchett.

A vote was taken on the application by Robert LeRoy Carr for membership and approved.  Initiation was performed by Bob Shipe, Ernie Baylor gave the Toast to the Flag and Stan Jones recited The American Creed.

Shirley Streitmatter was called upon to discuss the Blue Star Memorial Highway Program and placing a memorial at the Midwest City Welcome Plaza.  She thanked both the chapter and members for the donations.

Sunshine Lady, Maxine McNeil made a report on the members that are sick and in distress.

There being no further business, Bob Simmons attended the Bible and the meeting was closed with prayer at 2045 hrs.  Next meeting will be held 27 October 2010.
