Minutes for 27 October 2010

President Bill Bradley called the meeting to order at 1925 hrs by first declaring the colors to be in place. He next called for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.   The Bible was attended and the opening prayer was given by Bob Simmons.  Bill Stone made the Pronouncement.  Hank Riebel recited the Purposes of National Sojourners, Inc.

Introductions:  MW PGM Bob Shipe, GM 2001 and his Lady Betty;  Stan Jones, LOH, Masonic MOH 2000, PCP & PCC, Regional Representative;  Bill Stone, PCP, Masonic MOH 2009.

Minutes of the 22 September 2010 meeting were approved, as was the Treasurers’ Report.  The President called for reports from the Vice Presidents.  November’s program will be about WWII & Korea by Mr. Pendleton Woods.  Toys for Tots donations will be taken up also.  Hero’s of ’76 Commander Bob Hanna announced the next bivouac will be 5 November at the Del City Lodge at 1800 hrs.

1st VP Ken Staten introduced Mr. Jerry Hansen, wife Liz and one other, provided a program about the Civil War, its customs, clothing and weapons, to include how the Masonic Rite was involved.

Bob Shipe discussed the 3-6-5 Club and its membership.  $120.45 is needed to earn a 2010 steamer.  A call for new members and a motion was made to have the chapter makeup the difference.  Motion passed.  Dan Burchett made a motion that a donation be made of $100 to the Harringtion Fund of Collingwood Library and Museum.  Motion passed.  Bob Shipe made a motion that an additionl $100 also be donated to the fund from the Nolan Fund.  Motion passed.

Larry Streitmatter reporting for Shirley discussed the Blue Star Memorial Highway Program and placing a memorial at the Midwest City Welcome Plaza with the MWC Garden Club.  Plaque will be placed November 22nd at 1000 hrs with a reception to follow at the Garden Club, 1441 N. Key Blvd.

Sunshine Lady, Maxine McNeil made a report on the members that are sick and in distress.  Please keep her informed.

There being no further business, Bob Simmons attended the Bible and the meeting was closed with prayer at 2045 hrs. Next meeting will be held 17 November 2010.
