President Zellner opened the meeting. The Chaplin, Jack Peters, offered an opportunity for the Chapter to memorialize John Spencer by remembering him in prayer.
Introductions were made, including the widow Marvel Hillier, the widow of MIP Bob Hillier.
Stan Jones reported on the SEM Fund. He stated we needed $138.70 for a flag streamer which would be used to support National Headquarters. A life membership is $36.50 and a one year membership is $3.65.
The evening’s program, Family Assistance Program, was presented by Major Lindy White and Lamar Wilson of Joint Task Headquarters, National Guard. They provide an avenue for needed services to those who are deployed or have been deployed and face special and critical problems that the FAP is designed to alleviate.
Motion made and seconded to support the Family Assistance Program at TAFB by matching donations not to exceed $200.00. Motion approved.
Motion made and seconded to support the Toys For Tots by matching donations not to exceed $200.00. Motion passed.
An MIP petition for CMSG Joe C. Mitchell was read and approved.
The 3rd VP, Bob Hanna, stated that he had nothing to report on the ROTC Program. He added that there was a TV report earlier in the day that the San Francisco School Board had voted to deny access to San Francisco schools by the ROTC.
Sunshine Lady reported that a total of 12 cards for illness and for Thanksgiving were mailed for the month. Get well cards were sent to Shirley Niehoff, Naomi O’Neil, Joe Carrel, Louise Johnson, David Laukat, and Jim Onkst. Thanksgiving cards were sent to Jaunita Spencer, Theatus and Roberta Greeson, Keith Liles and Max Tatum. A sympathy card sent to Stan Jones. Flowers and card were sent for the John Spencer funeral from the Chapter.
Commander Dan Burchett reported that the Nathanael Greene Camp of Heroes of ’76 had a candidate and would meet Friday, 17 November 2006. A meal will be served at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting will be called to order at 6:30 p.m.
The Secretary reported that the website www.Tinkerchapter43.org, was up and running and was the handiwork of Marie Zellner. A draft of a new directory was circulated to the membership present for corrections.
The Ralph Lauren Perfume was won by Lady Naomi Peters.
Peace and tranquility prevailing the President asked the Chaplain to close in prayer.
