November 16, 2011  National Sojourners, Inc.  Tinker Chapter #43

The 33 members present enjoyed a hearty turkey and fried chicken dinner before the chapter meeting was called to order.

Chapter President Ken Staten opened the chapter at 1905 hrs.

Brother Simmons opened the Bible and led in the opening prayer.

Brother Bill Stone gave the Pronouncement.

Brother Hank Riebel gave the Purpose of National Sojourners, Inc.

Brother President introduced GHP of OKGC, RAM John King and MWPGM Robert shipe and his wife, Betty.

There were no committee reports.

Heroes of ’76 commander Bill Bradley announced a Bivouac on Dec. 9, 2011 (1800 hours) at Edmond Lodge.

Dan Burchett reported on the Flag Team activities.

Nov. 10, a building of the flag program for the Senior Citizens Center in Edmond.

Nov. 12,  five Heroes marched in the Blanchard, OK. Veteran’s Parade.  We carried the US, Sojourners and Heroes flags.

President Ken Staten read the membership applications of John King and Greg Fowler, vote was taken and both were accepted.

Brother Shipe initiated both into Tinker Chapter #43, National Sojourners Inc. with the assistance of Bro. Streitmatter, Brother Boehler and Brother Stone.

The scheduled program was Toys for Tots.  Although the Marine representative was a no show, the Chapter members present donated $377.00 which was matched by the chapter up to $200.00 and Brother Riebel (on behalf of Blanchard Lodge) donated $500.00 bringing the Toys for Tots donation from tinker chapter #43 to a grand total of $1077.00.  Brother Bill Bradley will ensure that the donation gets to the proper authority.

The December program will be making a donation to the Tinker Family Services for the assistance of military personnel of all branches of service who might need a helping hand during the Holiday season.  The Chapter will match up to $300.00.

Sickness and Distress:  Brother David Laukat is scheduled for Gall bladder surgery.  Our Secretary was not present because of illness.

The Chapter gave the closing prayer and the meeting adjourned at 2020 hours.
