President Bill Bradley called the meeting to order at 1920 hrs by first declaring the colors to be in place. He next called for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. The Bible was attended and the opening prayer was given by Bob Simmons. Bill Stone made the Pronouncement. Hank Riebel recited the Purposes of National Sojourners, Inc.

Minutes of the 23 March 2011 meeting were approved, as was the Treasurers’ Report. Secretary David Laukat announced a last call for selling raffle tickets in support of the National Convention being held 13-18 June.
The President called for reports from the Vice Presidents. 1st VP Ken Staten announced the May meeting will be the annual Memorial meeting for passing Sojourners. A current widows list will need to be prepared. 2nd VP Frank Clark stated the Bridge of Light program went well for March. 3rd VP Steven Guerrero was absent with no report. Volunteers are still needed for ROTC award presentations.
Adjunt Dan Burchett relayed the last Hero’s of “76 bivouac was poorly attended. The next meeting will be announced later by the new Commander. He also announced there will be a building the Flag program June 9 at the Tulsa Shrine. Assistance is needed and new team members requested.
A motion was made and seconded to support 4 positions to the Youth Leadership conference 14-7 July. The motion was approved. A motion wasmade and seconded from the Trustee board to extend our meeting policy to have the chapter pay for BOL guest meals. the motion was approved.
Ken Staten introduced Nathan Turner of the Oklahoma Territorial Museum of History in Guthrie as our speaker. His discussion covered the Louisiana Purchase, Trail of Tears (26 Tribes), Civil War anniversary of 150 years, land runs of 22 April 1889 and later, and the moving of the State Seal to Oklahoma City in 1910.
Bill Bradley announced there will be an Officers Call 16 May at the Santa Fe Cattle Company Steak House on SE 29th Street across from Tinker. Time is set for 1115 hrs.
The initiation of COL (R) Jonnie Lee Trivette was conducted by Bob Shipe. The Toast to the Flag was not given due to Ernie Boehner’s absence. The American Creed was led by Hank Riebel. Bill Stone proceeded with the Medal Lecture.
There being no further business, Bob Simmons attended the Bible and the meeting was closed with prayer at 2055 hrs. Next meeting will be held 25 May 2011.
